WHAT DOES AN ASSISTANT MANAGER DO?
- Assists store manager with the operation of store including opening, closing, shift changes, task delegation, and scheduling of staff members
- Greets customers, offers assistance with products/services, and resolves customer complaints
- Supervises register count, change orders, and bank deposits
- Supports store manager with bookkeeping responsibilities, as requested
- Works with store manager to oversee inventory management and merchandising
- Executes sales plans with guidance and support from store manager
- Assists store manager with exterior and interior store maintenance
- Ensures vehicles are maintained and inspected, if applicable
- Assists store manager with training of new hires or ongoing training of existing staff
- Monitors staff daily performance and provides redirection, as needed
- Communicates frequently and consistently with staff members
- Implements best practices, system conversions, store resets or renovations, and vendor program support with direction and support from the store manager, as needed
- Works closely with the store manager to execute operational feedback and performance improvement plans from Division Manager
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, requests for prices and quotes, complaints and scheduling of deliveries, and providing customer follow-ups
- Prepares bids and material estimates from customer or contractor blueprints
- Initiates telephone calls to customers to generate sales
- Coordinates purchase and delivery of special products and obtains information on pricing specifications, uses and availability
- Inputs customers’ orders, pricing information and additional data into the computer system
- Creates sales tickets
- Investigates credits and returns
- Participates in manager meetings, financial reviews and training events, as requested
- Additional duties, as assigned
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years retail experience, at least 1 year in a direct sales role, prior supervisory experience a plus
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
- Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance
- Knowledge of store inventory control and merchandising preferred
- Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible

The ideal candidate would have a strong customer service mentality, a willingness to learn life long useful home improvement knowledge and skills, and be open to a flexible schedule in a retail environment. Your main duties will be to work closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products and recommend the right solutions. You will also be responsible for working alongside management and fellow employees to maintain the store’s visual appearance and inventory.

JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for customer focused mechanic. The ideal candidate would have a strong customer service mentality, strong knowledge and skill base with small engine repairs, and be open to a flexible schedule in a retail environment. You will also be responsible for working alongside management and fellow employees to maintain a proper service area and turn around time on equipment repairs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain work area; maintain all equipment in a clean, safe working condition
- Follow all instructions and guidelines as outlined by direct supervisor
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs as directed by direct supervisor
- Make basic equipment repairs according to manufacturers’ specifications.
- Maintain and complete all equipment records in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Maintain tools and equipment in the safest manner possible, inspect equipment daily
- Perform extensive repairs as directed by direct supervisor
- Monitor, maintain, and update warehouse equipment parts inventory as needed
- Train associates in warehouse equipment repair
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
- Minimum experience required - 6 months warehouse maintenance and vehicle background
- Basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, brakes, welding, and general maintenance may be required
- Physical demands include working outside in working conditions that vary depending on seasons - temperature variations and inclement weather are real aspects of the work environment
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, climb, and stoop as needed
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 100 pounds regularly
- Ability to work overtime as needed
